Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The 1st Shift Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently moving, storing, and tracking materials throughout the facility. This role ensures production lines receive the right materials at the right time, maintains accurate inventory records, and operates material handling equipment in accordance with safety standards. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on environment and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.
1st or 2nd shifts available!
Responsibilities
Transport raw materials, parts, and finished products throughout the facility to designated areas, including the production floor, warehouse, and shipping areas.
Supply production lines with required materials to meet manufacturing schedules and ensure uninterrupted production.
Assist with inventory control by performing cycle counts and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Properly label and store materials in assigned locations, optimizing space utilization and ensuring materials are easily accessible.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment while strictly adhering to all safety guidelines.
Load and unload shipments and ensure materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely and accurate manner.
Use RF scanners to track materials entering and leaving inventory and to document storage locations within the warehouse.
Document and track material storage locations and stock levels, ensuring low-stock items are identified so adequate inventory remains available.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety procedures.
Immediately report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or near-miss incidents to the supervisor.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and warehouse staff, to support smooth and efficient operations.
Apply knowledge of manufacturing or HVAC-related processes to support accurate material handling and inventory management where applicable.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or HVAC-related industry.
Experience working in an HVAC or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Hands-on experience using RF scanners to track inventory and storage locations in a warehouse setting.
Ability to document and track material storage locations and maintain accurate inventory records.
Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with EPICOR is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when handling materials and recording inventory data.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of HVAC systems or manufacturing processes is beneficial.
Ability to safely lift and move up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required during the shift.
Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to safely operate equipment and handle materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a manufacturing or HVAC-related environment.
Familiarity with EPICOR ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
Demonstrated ability to support production operations through timely and accurate material movement.
Comfort using RF scanners and other warehouse technologies for tracking and documentation.
Strong organizational skills to optimize storage space and maintain an orderly warehouse.
Experience loading and unloading shipments in an industrial or warehouse setting.
Ability to climb portable ladders safely when needed.
Commitment to following safety procedures and using personal protective equipment as required.
Interest in contributing to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
Willingness to work a consistent 1st shift schedule from Monday through Thursday.

Work Environment
This role is based in a modern, air-conditioned manufacturing facility that incorporates industry 4.0 technology and supports environmentally conscious operations. The position follows a 1st shift schedule, working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m or a 2nd shift, working Monday through Thursday 5:00pm-3:30am. You will work primarily on the production floor and in warehouse areas, regularly using forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and ERP systems to support material handling and inventory control. The physical requirements include the ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb portable ladders as needed. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are necessary to safely operate equipment and handle materials. Personal protective equipment is required in designated areas, and the facility emphasizes adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
