The Office of the Minnesota Attorney General is currently seeking Fall Law Clerks to work directly with Assistant Attorneys General across all divisions of the Office, and gain hands-on experience reviewing documents, researching legal issues, drafting written product, and appearing in court. This position allows law students to develop professional skills and expand their knowledge while performing meaningful and challenging work on a wide variety of issues. We require our law clerks to assume a significant amount of responsibility over their files and put forth the very best work on behalf of the public.

Applicants should be prepared to work 20 hours per week during a ten to twelve-week period beginning in September. Law Clerks receive a salary of $20 per hour. This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of in-office and telework).

Minimum Qualifications

Current student in good standing with an accredited law school

Strong academic credentials

Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills (writing sample of up to five pages required with application submission)

Ability to:

Adapt in an inclusive, creative, and collaborative work environment

Show excellent judgement, character, and work ethic

Physical Requirements

Ability to move and transport such articles as files, laptop computer and resource materials weighing up to 25 pounds
