Summary The Senior Program Support Assistant works as a member of one of the teams In the Centralized Support Division located at 9700 Page Boulevard. The Senior Program Support Assistant assists the supervisor in ensuring the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the employees of the unit and integrated into the unit's strategies, goals, objectives, and work plans. Responsibilities Major Duties Generate various @types of correspondence and provide information for statistical and narrative reports. Fully utilize systems such as CAPRI, COVERS, VACOLS,PCGL, PIES, SHARE, ARCIS, RRS, VBMS, Adobe, eMilrecs and Microsoft Word, to input and/or access information needed in connection with the duties of the position. Process all incoming Power of Attorney requests. Determine if a prior representative must be revoked, prepares correspondence to notify all parties concerned and updates the master record(s). Explain VA FOIA/Privacy Act programs and entitlement criteria to veterans and their dependents. Apply all rules and regulations for VA FOIA/Privacy Act records releases and accurately redacting Personally Identifiable Information. Provide administrative support to the team to which they are assigned. Act as the liaison between the supervisor and employees relative to obtaining resources and securing information on process developments. Provide training to unit employees which require them to maintain current and accurate knowledge of procedures, policies, and directives as changes occur or as mandated by law or local decisions of management. Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only. To qualify for a GS-7, You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Using various software to produce and transmit documents, reports, and correspondence(s) Utilizing automated computer systems to enter data and maintain case file Performing standard clerical duties to include maintaining suspense and follow up systems Reviewing forms and documents for completeness and accuracy Acting as a liaison between Regional Offices and other Government Agencies such as Department of Defense and NARA.
