Summary The Cardiac Catheterization RN is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex caret to the patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, coronary, peripheral, and electrophysiology studies. The Cardiac Catheterization Nurse is responsible for assuring that the patient is correctly identified using the organization's two patient hemodynamic monitoring of a patient undergoing procedures and sedation along with cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation. Documentation Documents the nursing process in a consistent, accurate, concise, and timely manner. Evaluates and documents patient response to interventions and progress toward attainment of goals and expected outcomes. Revises the plan of care based on evaluation of patient responses and outcomes. Uses the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), Essentris, Clinical Procedures, and Bar Coded Medication Administration (BCMA) software per policy, as well as any future patient documentation programs. Critical Thinking and Professional Practice Demonstrates grade-appropriate and consistent critical thinking skills. Recognizes when a patient has a problem and manages the problem safely and effectively within the scope of practice. Demonstrates a relative sense of urgency and takes the right action for the right reason (del Bueno). Completes the position-specific Competency Checklist annually and is rated competent in all measured areas.
