The OCFO oversees USPTO's financial management, advising the Under Secretary and Director on planning, budgetary, financial, and procurement matters. Responsibilities The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. To be creditable, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to GS-XX in the Federal service: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience directing enterprise-wide data science initiatives and strategic data analysis programs; Experience designing and implementing data science frameworks, standards, and governance policies across multiple organizational units; and Experience using data science best practices and advising executive leadership on data-driven strategic decisions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
