Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer

Job Description

This role involves designing electrical circuits and PCBs for LED Drivers, control systems, and power electronics. You will utilize Altium Designer for PCB layouts and maintain all ECAD data. This is a key technical contributor position where you will drive electrical product development from concept through production.

Responsibilities

Design electrical circuits and PCBs for LED Drivers, control systems, and power electronics.

Utilize Altium Designer for PCB layouts and maintain all ECAD data.

Develop early-phase R&D proto@types and proof-of-concept designs.

Create, execute, and document hardware validation plans.

Support UL certification on new product development.

Drive continuous product improvements and iteration through field analysis and root cause investigation.

Design and implement production test fixtures for PCBA validation at volume.

Manage assigned projects end-to-end, maintaining timelines, escalating risks, and communicating status proactively.

Own BOM accuracy for assigned products and verify components against design requirements.

Validate incoming parts and assemblies against design specifications.

Manage component alternate approvals and proactively qualify alternates.

Support internal SMT/PCBA process as a technical expert.

Conduct forensic analysis of electrical field returns and internal defects, driving corrective actions.

Partner with manufacturing on first-run production builds.

Establish electrical test methods and procedures.

Provide technical guidance to Sales and Support teams as needed.

Essential Skills

Electrical engineering

Electrical design

PCB design

Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar software (Cadence, Allegro, Eagle) for schematic capture and PCB layout

Strong lab skills: oscilloscope, bench power supply, DMM, and the ability to debug hardware at the circuit level independently

Hands-on experience designing switching power supplies, LED drivers, or similar power electronics products

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience in power electronics design and PCB development

Experience working through UL certification (1598, 8750, or similar) is a plus

Familiarity with EMC testing methodologies (conducted/radiated immunity, IEC 6100 series) is a plus

Embedded firmware experience (C, Python, or similar) is a plus

Experience with Industrial LED lighting products or three-phase power systems is a strong plus

Work Environment

You will be joining a fast-growing, innovative team where your expertise in power electronics, PCB design, and hardware validation directly shape product design and reliability. The work environment is flexible, with typical hours from 8am to 5pm but options to adjust to a schedule like 6am - 3:30pm or 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. You will collaborate with a team of six engineers and about 25 employees in manufacturing/production. Relocation assistance is available if needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Halfmoon, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
