Job Title: Construction General Laborer
Job Description
This role supports a wide range of construction activities, including site preparation, material handling, demolition, and assistance to skilled trades. You will help prepare and maintain jobsites, work closely with carpenters and concrete crews, and operate basic tools and equipment to ensure projects run safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
Assist with site preparation, including grading, excavation support, and project setup activities.
Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment throughout the jobsite.
Perform general demolition and cleanup tasks to keep the work area safe and organized.
Support carpenters, concrete crews, equipment operators, and project supervisors with daily tasks.
Set forms, place concrete, and assist with concrete finishing operations under guidance.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites by following housekeeping and safety practices.
Install temporary barricades, fencing, and other jobsite protection as required.
Follow project plans, supervisor instructions, and company safety policies at all times.
Perform material handling duties, including lifting, carrying, and stocking materials throughout the workday.
Assist with commercial building construction, renovations, additions, and design-build projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
Hands-on construction experience or strong interest in construction work.
Basic knowledge of construction practices such as site preparation, demolition, and cleanup.
Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
Capability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong work ethic, consistent attendance, and willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general construction or general labor roles.
Exposure to carpentry tasks and concrete construction.
Familiarity with commercial building construction, renovations, additions, or design-build projects.
Comfort using a variety of power tools and small construction equipment.
Positive attitude and readiness to take on a variety of tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $30.00/hr.
