Summary The Program Support Assistant is located within Veterans Service Center (VSC) at the Buffalo Regional Office. This position provides administrative and clerical support to Veterans Service Center Manager (VSCM), Assistant Veterans Serviced Manager (AVSCM) and supervisors in the (VSC). Responsibilities The Program Support Assistant is responsible for the following duties but are not limited to: Providing technical and practical aspects in the area of administration that may include budgeting, purchasing, personnel administration, data processing, files management and timekeeping. Preparing forms, documents, training requests and other various administrative related documents that are needed to meet reporting requirements. Scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and/or schedules conferences. Providing general calendar maintenance clerical services such as maintaining calendars and recording appointments or arranging for meeting and small conference administrative details. Attending meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and follows up on action items with appropriate staff members independently. Processing incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication. Performs the following @types of duties: edits letters, composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness. Keeps track of taskings assigned by Director's office and ensure a response is sent in a timely manner. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:07/22/2026. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: As a current Federal, GS employee you must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-07 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Providing administrative support to a team, including but not limited to timekeeping, receiving and responding to phone calls, emails, and other messages, using electronic filing systems, taking minutes, and ordering supplies. Using various Microsoft Office programs, online database programs, and office equipment. Preparing reports, assist in planning, reviewing and reporting data. Following SOPs, directives, and other training, ensuring work is compliant with regulatory procedures. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week. Physical Requirements: The requires walking, carrying light items such as paper files and books, and use of the full range of modem office equipment. The work may involve lifting various materials such as training materials as well as various supplies. The Program Support Assistant is required to assist with scheduling and occasionally physically set-up of facility training rooms (arranging of chairs, presentation equipment, etc.).
