Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Supply Chain Management in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University welcomes applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management (SCM). Primary responsibilities include both research and teaching in SCM at the undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. levels.
Successful applicants will be expected to develop and maintain an outstanding research program targeting leading journals in supply chain management. The applicant is also expected to demonstrate strong teaching abilities. The ability to communicate effectively with prospective and current students, industry personnel, and the wider community is essential to this position. This full-time faculty position is on campus and in person. The expected start date for this position is August 2027.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must currently have, or expect to complete by 8/16/27, an earned doctorate in business administration, with a concentration in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, operations, or a related specialization.
Demonstrated ability to produce strong scholarly research.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates.
Candidates must meet the college's standards to be Scholarly Academic qualified under AACSB standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Very strong research record in supply chain management evidenced by publications in leading peer-reviewed supply chain management journals.
Significant research in progress targeted at top SCM journals
Work experience with professional responsibilities related to supply chain management.
Sustained record of excellence in teaching and the ability to teach a variety of SCM courses at undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. levels.

The Department of Supply Chain Management is composed of 12 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and four-term faculty members. Our department enjoys a strong reputation for faculty research and student focus. We are consistently ranked among the top 10 in the world for empirical supply chain management research. And we offer nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate supply chain management programs. Our department actively engages with industry partners in different ways, including through the Ivy Supply Chain Forum.
