Summary This vacancy is for a GS-2150-13, Airfield Operations Manager located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG AIR STATION ELIZABETH CITY in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina. Responsibilities You will serve as an Airfield Operations Manager and be responsible for advising the Commanding Officer on airfield management to support continuous, all-weather flight operations for Coast Guard and tenant aircraft. The role oversees over 61,000 annual flight operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and coordinating with local, state, and federal partners to manage increasing air traffic at the KECG airfield. . Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Develops and oversees the implementation of operational plans, policies, and procedures for airfield activities and facilities to ensure safe flight operations, managing all aspects of airfield operations at a large, multi-tenant military airport. Oversees and manages all operations, services, and emergency training at a large, multi-tenant military airport, including air traffic control, communications, navigational aids, weather, fuel, environmental compliance, and maintenance. Acts as the command's representative and liaison with external agencies and the public on operational issues, and serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for contracts related to air traffic control, weather reporting, maintenance, and wildlife management. Manages the division operating budget, oversees records and staff actions, and prepares administrative policies and reports in compliance with FAA, DoD, and USCG regulations. Qualifications Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures for airfield management, including strategic planning and resource determination for short- and long-term goals. Manage and coordinate operations at complex or multi-tenant airports, overseeing air traffic services, emergency response, and ensuring compliance with public safety and security regulations. Conduct compliance inspections of airfield infrastructure, plan and manage training exercises for emergencies, and serve as a liaison with external partners to negotiate and build consensus on operational matters.
