Summary You will serve as a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATOR in the COMMANDER NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAEND-CNIC of NAVSTA MAYPORT. Responsibilities You will independently initiate, control, and terminate fuel transfers throughout the tank farm system. You will receive fueling/defueling requests from customers and prioritize, schedule operations, and prepare appropriate documentation and reports You will direct the loading and unloading of fuel aboard tankers, barges, and the transfer of fuel from one tank to another within the tank storage areas. You will operate pick-up trucks, vans, stake trucks, 5,000-gallon refueler trucks, tractor/trailer trucks, forklifts, farm tractors with attachments. You will perform operator-level preventative maintenance of fuel facilities. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform common tasks including experience controlling the distribution and storage of various grades of bulk petroleum products by assisting in controlling the operation of a multi-fuel storage and distribution system; receiving, storing, transferring or issuing liquid petroleum fuel products; operating pumps, set pipe lines and tank valves to receive or issue fuel; conduct gauging operations; perform miscellaneous hose handling or related docking duties; inspecting receipt of product for quality and @type; recording gauge readings; following guidance in a variety of manuals and directives relating to safe operations around a variety of fuel @types; report the need for repairs of tanks, pipelines, facilities and equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
