Key Responsibilities
Pastry Program Ownership: Own, design, and execute an innovative, rotating pastry and dessert program tailored specifically for an intimate, 24-guest fine-dining tasting menu restaurant with 2 Michelin Keys.
Service Excellence & Presentation: Monitor the daily preparation of all pastry items, artisanal baked goods, and customized guest arrival amenities, ensuring flawless consistency and Michelin-caliber presentation.
Culinary Collaboration: Partner closely with the Social Haus culinary leadership team to create cohesive, seasonal menus that reflect the estate's ultra-luxury, adult-only identity.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Maintain an immaculate, highly organized pastry station while strictly adhering to all local health department regulations and safety standards.
Brand Standards & Customization: Uphold Forbes travel standards by maintaining advanced knowledge of food allergens and alternative preparations to seamlessly customize tasting menus for individual guest preferences.
Operational Tracking & Budgeting: Manage stock pars for specialized ingredients, place accurate inventory orders, and assist in managing labor and food costs to keep operations aligned with the budget.
Team Mentorship & Leadership: Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and oversight to pastry team members, fostering a harmonious and high-performing kitchen environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef / Pastry Chef.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-end pastry field, preferably within a tasting-menu restaurant, Michelin-rated property, or luxury resort, alongside a high school diploma or culinary arts degree.
Valid Montana Food Handler's license and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Deep understanding of high-end pastry techniques, flavor profiling, sophisticated plating aesthetics, and team management (minimum 2 years of leadership experience).
A calm, focused, and sophisticated demeanor with a sharp attention to detail and a passion for refined, authentic hospitality.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work efficiently in a hot kitchen environment for extended periods during service.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy baking equipment and bulk inventory ingredients up to 50 lbs.
