In this position, you will ensure uninterrupted production flow in assigned process. Provide troubleshooting support as well as coaching/on-the-job training to employees to ensure that day to day department goals are being met. You will be the first point of escalation for production issues and tasked the responsibility of communicating with appropriate resources to ensure that problems are resolved quickly and efficiently. As you grow, you will develop critical leadership competencies and business process knowledge.
Key role responsibilities
Serve as primary backup to the Production Supervisor for all assigned departments
Provides documentation to support Production Supervisor in managing performance concerns as well as recognizing exceptional performance
Completes various audits on production, safety, and quality processes
Provide communication to the team as the first point of contact in the escalation procedure. Coach, guide, develop, and train employees to meet production goals and improve skillsets
Knowledge of Lean methodologies. Lead and drive engagement in MDI, 5S, Waste Elimination, and Kaizen activities
Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving, decision making, as well as recognizing the team for exceptional work
Lead production processes by assigning work, removing process roadblocks, and collaborating with appropriate resources to ensure that daily production, safety, quality, and delivery goals are met.
Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material and information into, within, and out of assigned work area as needed.
Collaborate with leadership and department stakeholders to ensure all teams are aligned on production status and any issues are resolved in a timely fashion
Reports and assists in resolution of product, process, or machine issues. Additionally reports and assists in resolution of safety and quality non-conformacies.
Runs and troubleshoots machinery. Removes production roadblocks in assembly process.
Able to setup, adjust, and troubleshoot process and be the first point of contact in the escalation path to resolve process non-conformancies, in order to meet quality and production specifications
Adjusts staffing and work flow as necessary in response to material, machine, or labor changes throughout the shift.
Is a leader for established safety, quality, performance standards.
Assists in resolving data integrity issues on Manufacturing Orders and production databases. Performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
Leads improvement efforts surrounding all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Reports and helps in driving resolution to adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations.
Demonstrates flexibility by identifying production, process, or resource related roadblocks and helping to resolve them across assembly processes. Provides and implements continuous improvement recommendations as well as participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
Assist department supervisor with shift start up, daily attendance, first piece inspections, machine set up and troubleshooting, employee job assignments, employee training.
Create and populate Excel spreadsheets to report daily production and attendance
Track production schedules for Assembly, Automation, and Packing
Participate in GIMBA and daily production meetings
Assist material handlers as needed
Operate PIT. Stand up.

8+ years Manufacturing or Production work experience.

Ability to work individually and with others to identify, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve non-conforming machine, process, product, or environmental issues

Excellent verbal and written communication with positive attitude
Detail-oriented and able to identify discrepancies with parts, process, or paperwork
Effective computer skills. Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite of tools
