Description

The Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Rochester seeks to recruit a full-time academic plastic surgeon at the assistant, associate or full professor level. Opportunity exists for the development of a busy practice in microvascular and implant-based breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery, and general reconstruction. Selected individuals will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service.

The Comprehensive Breast Care Center of Wilmot Cancer Institute is the regions only NCI-designated cancer center, and is currently staffed by 6 breast surgeons, 6 medical oncologists, and 3 radiation oncologists. However, this team is growing rapidly! With this, a substantial increase in volume is anticipated. Applicants would have ample opportunity to participate in the existing multi-disciplinary care team and attend tumor boards. Additionally, the breast team has expanded regionally including three UR sites in the West, Finger Lakes, and Southern Tier, with referrals from other major New York cities. It is our goal to provide complete care to the region. It is a really exciting time to be a part of the UR breast team, including delivering superb patient care, growing the faculty group, and gaining more national prominence.

The City of Rochester is a mecca for the arts: home to a philharmonic orchestra, wonderful museums including the Strong National Museum of Play, internationally recognized dance companies as well as The Eastman School of Music. The Rochester International Jazz Festival is one of the top 10 Jazz festivals in the nation. The region boasts access to great watersports both on Lake Ontario as well as the Finger Lakes. The Finger Lakes region is also home to many internationally known wineries. .

Qualifications

Candidates must have completed medical school receiving an MD or equivalent and completed a full surgical training residency program. Microvascular fellowship preferred. Applicants for this position must be board certified or board eligible in Plastic Surgery. Must be eligible for a full NYS medical license.

The referenced pay range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
