Location: Downtown Baltimore, MD (Hybrid)

Duration: Approximately 4 Months (Mid-July through Mid-November)

Employment Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced Interim Communications & Marketing Manager to provide leadership and operational support during a temporary leave coverage assignment. This contract role will oversee day-to-day marketing and communications activities, collaborate across multiple teams, and ensure continuity of campaigns, content, events, reporting, and communication initiatives throughout the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day communications and marketing operations.

Provide guidance and support to communications, content, and marketing team members.

Manage editorial calendars, content planning, and project priorities.

Review, edit, and approve marketing and communication materials for quality, accuracy, and consistency.

Oversee recurring communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, and digital content.

Support conference and event marketing efforts, including promotional activities, lead follow-up, and logistics coordination.

Review and support paid advertising initiatives and campaign execution.

Prepare and analyze marketing performance reports, registrations, leads, conversions, and campaign activity.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support content development, presentations, surveys, website updates, and special projects.

Ensure seamless communication and coordination across marketing, events, and creative teams.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Experience managing marketing, communications, content development, or campaign operations.

Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and quality control skills.

Previous experience leading or coordinating marketing, communications, content, creative, or event-focused teams.

Experience with editorial calendars, project tracking tools, email marketing platforms, website content management, and reporting.

Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting conferences, events, trade shows, or professional development programs.

Knowledge of lead generation, campaign reporting, and marketing analytics.

Background in digital content, newsletters, website management, and paid advertising
