Our client, an engineering, manufacturing, and service company specializing in medical devices and gas separation technologies is currently hiring two Design Engineers, one Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and one two focus on product development. Positions are full-time, Direct Hire. Contract to Hire options are possibilities as well for Engineers on the fence.

Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation portable oxygen concentrators. This role is responsible for creating innovative mechanical solutions that enable compact, lightweight, rugged, and highly reliable products for users who depend on oxygen therapy in everyday and outdoor environments.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record designing consumer or professional products where portability, durability, thermal management, acoustics, and efficient packaging are critical. Experience in industries such as portable medical equipment, cordless power tools, outdoor power equipment, portable electronics, battery-powered devices, or other rugged portable products is highly desirable.
What Success Looks Like:
Develop mechanical architectures that maximize performance while minimizing size and weight.
Create products that are comfortable to carry, easy to use, and capable of reliable operation in demanding real-world environments.
Deliver designs that achieve cost, quality, reliability, and manufacturability objectives.
Successfully transition products from concept to high-volume production while maintaining exceptional user experience and product robustness.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design activities from concept development through production launch.
Develop innovative packaging solutions for complex electromechanical systems, including compressors, motors, batteries, electronics, pneumatic components, and user interfaces.
Design products that achieve aggressive size, weight, durability, and manufacturability targets.
Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
Design and validate enclosures and structures capable of withstanding drops, vibration, environmental exposure, and daily field use.
Develop solutions for thermal management, airflow, acoustic performance, and vibration isolation.
Support proto@type builds, testing, design verification, and root-cause investigations.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimize components, tooling, and production processes.
Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and regulatory compliance activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of product development experience in mechanical design engineering.
Experience in one or more of the following industries: Medical Devices, Portable medical devices, Cordless power tools, Outdoor power equipment, Portable consumer electronics, Industrial handheld equipment, Mobile robotics or drones.
Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience packaging complex electromechanical systems into compact products.
Experience designing molded plastic, sheet metal, cast, and machined components.
Strong understanding of structural design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and material selection.
Experience taking products from concept through production.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing portable, battery-powered products where size, weight, and durability are critical performance requirements.
Experience designing products to survive drop, shock, vibration, dust, and weather exposure requirements.
Knowledge of thermal management, airflow design, noise reduction, and vibration control.
Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
Experience supporting regulatory or safety compliance requirements.
