Job Title: Finance Lead / Controller (Part-Time, Interim)Job Description
The Finance Lead / Controller will provide strategic financial leadership and oversight on a part-time, interim basis for a growing organization. This six-month engagement requires approximately 20 hours per week and focuses on strengthening accounting operations, improving financial processes, and supporting leadership with data-driven insights. The role is hybrid, with a greater onsite presence expected during the initial onboarding and transition period to gain a thorough understanding of the business, financial operations, and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide high-level financial leadership and support to company leadership, acting as a trusted advisor on financial matters.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting processes.
Review financial statements and reports, providing clear insights and commentary on business performance and key trends.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies, and strengthen control frameworks as needed.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, partnering with leadership to develop realistic financial plans and projections.
Manage cash flow planning and analysis to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including scenario modeling and profitability assessments.
Evaluate existing financial processes, systems, and workflows, and recommend practical operational improvements.
Support leadership with strategic decision-making through data-driven financial insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with internal teams across the organization to address accounting and finance-related initiatives and resolve issues.
Leverage Acumatica ERP to enhance reporting, streamline processes, and improve data accuracy and accessibility.
Work independently with limited oversight, taking ownership of deliverables and driving continuous improvement in the finance function.
Essential Skills
Significant experience in a senior-level finance role such as Controller, Finance Manager, Finance Lead, or similar position.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Hands-on experience overseeing accounting operations and month-end close activities.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve financial processes and internal controls.
Ability to work independently and provide strategic financial guidance with limited oversight.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence across the organization.
Experience working in dynamic or growing organizations, with comfort navigating change and evolving requirements.
Experience with Acumatica ERP, with the ability to use the system to support reporting and process optimization (strongly preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Work Environment
This role is structured as a contract, interim consulting engagement lasting approximately six months and requiring around 20 hours per week. The work arrangement is hybrid, combining remote work with onsite presence, particularly during the initial onboarding and transition period to build familiarity with the business, financial operations, and key stakeholders. The environment is dynamic and growth-oriented, offering the opportunity to shape financial processes and provide high-level leadership while maintaining a flexible, part-time schedule. The finance function leverages Acumatica ERP as a core system, and you will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic and operational initiatives.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
