THE POSITION
As an Administrative Assistant 1 with the Department of Transportation, you will support essential office and human resource processes that keep the agency running smoothly. You will have the opportunity to work with many different programs and staff, making each day engaging and meaningful. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports a wide range of administrative and human resource functions for Central Office programs and staff. Your work will help ensure that essential systems and processes stay accurate, timely, and compliant. As a Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
Role Maintenance Support:Manage SAP role maintenance tasks, review requests, communicate needs, and track completion across Central Office organizations
Parking Program Assistance:Apply policies, assign parking spots, review usage, and develop solutions for teleworking and shared spaces
Signature Authorization Processing:Update systems, handle authority requests, maintain records, and coordinate with offices on program needs
Timekeeping and Payroll:Research timekeeping errors, resolve leave and payroll issues, and support Highway Administration organizations with coding and reporting
TWOC Program Monitoring:Track Temporary Working Out of Class assignments, prepare notifications, verify coding, and communicate with supervisors
Program Coordination:Support seasonal and co-op programs, track interns, and work with HR and bureaus on hiring and separation procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment. 75 hours bi-weekly
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
