DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports park operations by performing maintenance tasks, caring for park grounds, and assisting with facility repairs. Through your work, you will help keep buildings, trails, and public areas clean, safe, and ready for visitors. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
Building Upkeep:Clean and maintain park buildings, restrooms, pavilions, and other facilities
Grounds Care:Mow grass, use trimmers and power tools, perform landscaping, and maintain trails and shoreline areas
Repair Tasks:Assist with construction, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance projects
Equipment Use:Operate hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and small equipment needed for maintenance work
Public Interaction:Provide directions, answer questions, and assist visitors in a professional and respectful manner
Record Keeping:Complete required forms such as daily logs, equipment records, and fuel documentation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Occasional overtime may be required.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction ;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training .
