Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Aeronautical Integration and Test Engineer - Level 1 or Level 2 to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
Candidate shall possess a general mechanical engineering background and have an understanding of system-level manufacturing concepts as they apply to integration of complex systems.
Duties will require daily contact with space launch vehicle hardware and solid rocket motors. Candidate will be responsible for supporting senior staff in the final system-level integration and test of air launched and ground launched vehicles.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Contributing to the development of detailed work instructions, processes and procedures directing the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems.
Ensuring consistent application of assembly processes and philosophies across all products.
Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and translate requirements into work instructions.
Coordinating integration activities and schedules with operations supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations.
Documenting hardware defects/test anomalies, develop/implement robust and effective corrective actions.
Identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement and participate in implementation.
Supporting launch operations, as required.

This position can be filled at either a Level 1 or Level 2.
Basic Qualifications for Level 1:
Bachelor's degree with 0 years of professional experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance
Experience following detailed work instructions, such as complex engineer drawings or blueprints
Skills to write test procedures and review test data to ensure
Hands on integration experience with multiple sub-systems or components
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance
Experience following detailed work instructions, such as complex engineer drawings or blueprints
Skills to write test procedures and review test data to ensure
Hands on integration experience with multiple sub-systems or components
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred or Solid Works)
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (iBase-T/Solumina).
Experience or exposure to testing, system integration, and vehicle launch operations

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,700.00 - $109,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
