Summary About the Position: This is an Administrative Support Assistant position with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, Operations Division. This position is located in Mountain Home, AR. This is a developmental position which can be filled at the GS-05 level with promotion potential to the GS-06 level. Promotion is at management's discretion. Responsibilities Maintain property book records. Receive visitors to include answering phone calls. Perform a wide variety of duties to support the administrative functions of the office. Utilize automated equipment to include a variety of software programs. Prepare estimates to be used in projected operating budget for supplies, equipment, etc. Prepare travel orders and travel vouchers for supported employees. GS-05:Specialized Experience:: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of clerical assignments to support an organization, such as recordkeeping, replenishing supplies, and receiving visitors and phone calls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06:Specialized Experience: Have at least one year of specialized experience which includes at least 2 out of the following 3 duties: 1) assisting with an office budget; OR 2) utilizing automated office software to prepare documents, correspondence or spreadsheets; OR 3) performing administrative support duties for an office such as timekeeping and coordinating travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
