Job Title: Engineer - GSE & Tooling III

Location: Kent, WA

Type: Contract / Onsite

Compensation: $115 per hour

Responsibilities

Support test, tooling, and design engineers in the design and CAD activities of test equipment in accordance with Blue Origin and established industry standards

Design, create, and modify 3D models and drawings of test equipment, fixtures, GSE, tooling, and facilities

Create and modify test configuration assemblies and develop associated BOMs and drawings

Create Interface Control Models and Interface Control Drawings

Create/split conceptual structural models into components, joints, and assemblies

Incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards

Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews

Assist in the development of requirements, statements of work, and technical oversight of GSE vendors

Provide technical recommendations on tooling and equipment design

Maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status as needed

Support test engineers in test planning and address questions pertaining to the test setup and load applications for all test load cases from a fixturing perspective

Requirements

Experience applying GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards in drawings, ensuring manufacturing and inspection requirements are met

Familiarity with Windchill or similar configuration management software

Experience working within a configuration management / engineering change (CN) release process, including taking a design from model creation through formal release

Development of designs or documentation for umbilical systems, ground support equipment, test fixtures, launch pad structures, or lifting/handling tooling is preferred
