Job Title: Subject Matter Expert, Rotating Machinery

Type: Long-term Contract

Work Model: Remote

Responsibilities:

Provide oversight for first-of-a-kind large nuclear fluid pumps through design, testing, and manufacturing.

Review supplier deliverables to ensure the pump design operates as needed.

Support pump development by authoring and maintaining specifications and other design inputs necessary for pump design.

Support pump maintenance and operation planning.

Plan and oversee separate and integrated effects testing, including pump qualification programs.

Ensure proper application of applicable design codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA).

Provide technical guidance on nuclear and non-nuclear design standards and regulatory requirements.

Establish, maintain, and allocate system requirements and engineering specifications.

Oversee development and integration of design documentation, including P&IDs, 3D models, and interface drawings.

Lead preparation and coordination of complete design packages (calculations, reports, drawings, specifications).

Support project planning and scheduling to ensure alignment with overall plant design delivery milestones.

Requirements

B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university and 15+ years of proven mechanical systems experience.

Experience with large vertical pump design and manufacture.

Experience with full hardware lifecycle, from cradle to grave.

Experience in high temperature and multi-discipline integration, highly desired with nuclear handling process systems, fluid systems, or fluid system component design a plus.

Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in fluid and structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.

Candidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and lead a design team's effort with minimal direction.

Ability to handle projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, with ability to resolve conflicts between objectives.

The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
