Job Title: Commercial Electrician
Job Description
The Commercial Electrician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots electrical equipment and systems in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments. This role involves reading blueprints, laying out work for execution, leading helpers, and performing conduit and wiring tasks to ensure safe and reliable electrical installations.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute electrical work accurately.
Lay out work for each job, including determining routing for conduit and wiring and organizing materials and tools.
Lead and direct helpers in the completion of electrical installations and related tasks on site.
Bend conduit and pipe, including EMT and rigid, to specified measurements and configurations.
Perform rough-in wiring and conduit bending for commercial and industrial construction projects.
Install switches, light fixtures, and other electrical components according to code and project specifications.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical equipment and systems in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments.
Apply knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes to ensure all work meets regulatory and safety standards.
Use appropriate tools and testing equipment to verify proper installation, operation, and safety of electrical systems.
Communicate effectively with fellow employees and customers to maintain productive and satisfactory work conditions.
Perform any other duties or assignments as management deems necessary to support project completion and site operations.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a mechanic, journeyman-level, or equivalent commercial electrician.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
Strong experience running conduit, including EMT and rigid, in commercial or industrial settings.
Hands-on experience with wiring, light fixture installation, and related electrical components.
Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards.
Proficiency in conduit bending, pipe bending, and rough-in wiring techniques.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment safely and efficiently.
Experience working in construction environments, including industrial and critical power projects.
Capability to lead helpers and work as a foreman-level electrician when required.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and interacting with customers.
Competence in using standard electrical tools and testing equipment to complete jobs accurately and safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background as a foreman, electrician, mechanic, or journeyman in commercial or industrial electrical work.
Familiarity with industrial and construction environments, including critical power applications.
Experience working with EMT, rigid conduit, and various conduit systems on base and construction sites.
Ability to interpret and work from schematics and detailed construction documents.
Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and supporting others in completing project tasks.
Willingness to perform additional duties and assignments as needed to support project and site requirements.

Work Environment
The role is based on a construction site, working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You operate in commercial, industrial, and critical power environments, using standard electrical tools and testing equipment to complete installations and troubleshooting tasks. The position requires wearing steel-toe boots, hard hats, safety vests, and safety glasses at all times to maintain a safe worksite. No medical monitoring or specific medical certifications are required for this role.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
