A successful candidate in this position will provide direction & leadership in the planning, development, & administration of programs, systems, & work processes that are necessary to perform the critical mission & support activities required of the organization. Responsibilities About the Position - Portland This position is located in Portland, OR which boasts huge spans of amazing trees, foliage, landscape, and everywhere you look you can appreciate beautiful greenery! It is known as the most bike-friendly city in America, has a train system that greets you at the airport spanning across the city, and is home to the Portland International Rose Garden, the oldest in the country! As a Data Integration and Analytics Support Supervisor, you will: Exercise delegated supervisory authorities and responsibilities, directing, coordinating, and overseeing the work and providing similar oversight of contractors when appropriate. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Make decisions on work problems presented by subordinates or by contractors. Provide in-depth and independent technical guidance, services, technologies, advice, and recommendations to senior leaders and act as a supervisor of technical federal and contractor IT professionals maintaining BPA systems. Ensure continuity in operations and the rigorous application of information management/information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of planning and management services. Develop and maintain high-level cybersecurity awareness for the organization and maintain a general awareness and understanding of cybersecurity and security concerns and issues, such as the processing environment, architecture, and technical problems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that must include: 1) Leading, planning, and assigning work for an IT team or project, including providing technical guidance and managing project execution; 2) Designing, developing, or overseeing data integration solutions, such as data warehouses, data lakes, or ETL/ELT (Extract, Transform, Load / Extract, Load, Transform) processes; 3) Applying principles of data management, including data architecture, data governance, or data quality assurance, to enterprise-level systems; and 4) Evaluating IT programs or systems and providing recommendations to management or stakeholders on strategic direction, technical architecture, or process improvements. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
