Position: Warehouse Supervisor
2.0 Responsibilities
· Plans, schedules, and manages the work of the assigned unit.
· Provides guidance and direction to employees in the resolution of daily problems and issues.
· Evaluates and recommends changes in methods and procedures in assigned area of responsibility.
· Estimate personnel needs and assigned work to meet completion dates in accordance with schedules.
· Familiarizes employees with established organization procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Provide employees with developmental opportunities and continuos training.
· Continuously innovate organization and work processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
· Manages, coordinates, and provides leadership to and reviews the work of the assigned staff.
· Responsible for performance reviews and HR issues concerning staff.
· Interface with on-site customer representative and customers.
· Handles all HR issues to include interviewing and hiring.
· Responsible for all monthly quality reports to customer.
· Manage operating costs and understand P&L statements.
· KPI Reporting
· Continuously improve customer satisfaction.
· Expand vendor relationships.
3.0 Qualifications
· 3-5 five years of direct Supervisory experience.
· College degree in a business-related field is preferred.
· 3 + years of Warehouse or distribution experience.
· Familiarity with Receiving and Lumping service techniques.
· Excellent organizational and math skills.
· Excellent communications skills and the ability to work under pressure.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
· Must be able to prioritize and make quick decisions.
· Ability to manage 25+ staff employees.
· Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks safely.
· Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking procedures
· Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and load/unload activities in a fast-paced environment.
4.0 Qualifications
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three (12) months of related experience and/or training.
· Outstanding attendance record.
· Must possess Forklift Certification.
· Ability to be at assigned work area at scheduled time, demonstrating reliable and punctual attendance, including taking and returning from breaks and attending meetings in a timely manner.
· Ability to read and comprehend written or verbal simple instructions, and short correspondence.
· Ability to learn from directions, observations and mistakes, and apply correct procedures using good judgement.
· Ability to write basic correspondence.
· Ability to record information such as training and attendance records.
· Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
· Ability to perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
· Basic computer skills such as the ability to input information via a keyboard, mouse, and RF scanner.
· Working knowledge of basic features of word processing programs and electronic mail.
5.0 Environmental and Physical Demands
· Safety shoes (Steel-toed) are required
· Safety vest is required
· Duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
· Duties require walking, standing, reaching forward, reaching above shoulders, pushing, pulling, twisting at the waist, grabbing, finger manipulation, and sitting.
· Light physical demand level: Exerting up to twenty (20) lbs of force occasionally, up to ten (10) lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects weighing less than twenty-three (23) lbs.
