Job Title: Shop Technician (entry level)
Job Description
This entry level role focuses on the fabrication, bonding, and assembly of aircraft parts using sheet metal and composite materials. You follow detailed technical work instructions and blueprints to perform precise assembly and repair tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship on aviation components. The position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who enjoys hands-on work with tools and materials in a structured shop environment.
Responsibilities
Fabricate aircraft parts using sheet metal, following detailed technical work instructions and engineering blueprints.
Perform bonding and composite layup of aircraft components in accordance with established procedures and assembly instructions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete fabrication, assembly, and repair tasks.
Interpret and follow technical work instructions, drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and alignment of parts.
Assist with composite and sheet metal repairs on aircraft parts, maintaining structural integrity and quality standards.
Support tooling activities related to fabrication and assembly, including handling, setup, and basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring materials, tools, and components are properly stored and labeled.
Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications, making adjustments or corrections as needed.
Follow all safety guidelines and shop procedures while working with sheet metal, composites, adhesives, and tools.
Collaborate with team members and leads to meet production schedules and contribute to continuous improvement in shop processes.
Essential Skills
Basic mechanical inclination - no specific work experience required
Ability to read, understand, and follow technical work instructions and assembly procedures.
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and diagrams for aircraft parts and assemblies.
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools in a fabrication and assembly environment.
Strong attention to detail and high level of organization when working with multiple parts and tasks.
Ability to perform basic math and reading tasks, with successful completion of a math and reading assessment required during screening.
Capability to follow repair procedures for sheet metal and composite components.
Reliability in following safety protocols and shop standards in an aviation-focused environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a shop setting within an aviation-focused facility. Much of the work on the composite side takes place in a mostly climate-controlled environment, providing a comfortable workspace for bonding and layup tasks. Some areas of the facility are not climate controlled but are described as very comfortable, supporting a productive and safe workday. The organization is expanding, offering a dynamic environment with evolving capabilities and opportunities to work with various tools, sheet metal, and composite materials. Dress is typical for a hands-on shop environment, with appropriate work attire and safety gear used when working with tools, metals, and composites.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
