Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a growing international construction company in Robert, Louisiana. This contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who enjoys managing invoice workflows, supporting financial accuracy, and working closely with internal stakeholders. The person in this role will contribute to the efficiency of the finance team while building a strong foundation for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

Support the day-to-day administrative and clerical operations of the accounts payable and finance function.

Review invoices for accuracy, assign appropriate coding, and prepare documents for timely entry and payment processing.

Reconcile accounts payable activity with the general ledger and help maintain accurate subledger records.

Process employee expense submissions and assist in resolving payment discrepancies or vendor-related questions.

Prepare, verify, and distribute checks, including handling time-sensitive payments when needed.

Manage incoming department mail and organize financial documents such as invoices, checks, and supporting records for retention and audit readiness.

Respond to inquiries from internal teams and provide assistance during internal or external audit requests.

Contribute to special assignments and process improvement efforts as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.

At least 2 years of prior experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role preferred.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfort handling data in spreadsheet form.

Experience with invoice coding, invoice processing, and check run support.

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication and customer service skills with the ability to work well across financial and operational teams.

Flexibility to manage changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks with a sense of urgency.
