QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess experience in Special Education K-12, as well as comprehensive knowledge relative to working with students who present with significant learning delays, as well as difficulties managing behavior, coping with frustration, following multi-step directions and/or regulating emotion.

Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and curriculum development including planning, implementation and evaluation of materials, supplies and lessons.

Demonstrated knowledge of effective classroom management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with students of all ability levels, as well as modification of material for student growth

Demonstrated evidence of the ability to reflect and contemplate on one's teaching allowing for growth and excellence.

Demonstrated evidence to use data and assessment tools to identify needs, assess student progress and performance, plan instruction to improve performance and achievement of all learners.

Demonstrated evidence of optimism, enthusiasm, compassion, warmth, understanding and sensitivity to all students.

Demonstrated evidence to maintain high levels of student engagement.

Demonstrated evidence of effective communication with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.

Demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal skills with students, faculty, support staff, and parents as well as care/case managers for Post-Secondary outcomes.

PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:

Demonstrated evidence of success in working with students with a variety of learning needs and challenges.

Experience with teaching students with disabilities using modified curriculum towards graduation outcomes.

Experience in working and collaborating with paraprofessionals, aides and support staff.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Exceptional Education & Student Services

ANNUAL SALARY: $44,840 - $53,700 Per WTA Contract

Internal: District employees (Probationary and tenured teachers requesting a transfer within their current tenure area, Teaching Assistants who are currently fully certified in the appropriate tenure area) may apply by submitting a letter of interest and an updated resume to Human Resources with a copy to the building principal. The original signed letters of interest must be submitted by the end of the day on July 9, 2026.

External: All others (including part-time teachers, teachers applying outside of their current tenure area, regular subs, and per diem subs) should fill out an online application at Williamsville.SchoolSpring.com and then apply to appropriate posting.
