Field Service Technician (JR/Entry Level)

The Field Service Technician supports the testing, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning of electromechanical products. Approximately 50% of the role focuses on in-house repair and board-level circuit work, while the remaining 50% involves national field service travel to customer sites for installations and on-site support. This position offers strong training, mentorship, and growth opportunities for candidates interested in complex electrical and electromechanical systems. There is also a lot of overtime opportunity and to get paid for the travel!

Essential Skills

1-3 years of experience in electromechanical service or field service, or a relevant technical college degree.

Entry level candidates out of an Associates program will be considered!

Hands-on soldering experience for board-level repair and assembly work.

Proficiency in board-level circuit repair and analysis, including troubleshooting electronic components.

Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and PCB blueprints accurately.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for a client-facing technical role.

Electro-mechanical experience with practical experience working on electronic and mechanical assemblies.

1-2 years of related technical experience in testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic/mechanical systems.

Willingness and ability to travel nationally up to 50% of the time.

Ability to set up and use electronic test equipment to conduct functional and operational tests.

Capability to adjust and calibrate electronic circuitry and components using standard electronic principles.

Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of variables in field and production environments.

Skill in interpreting instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $25.00/hr.
