There is a position available in the Colusa County Probation Department that can be filled at any level, depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant. This recruitment will be used to fill a current vacancy and establish an eligibility list to fill other potential openings without reposting.

What's this Job All About?

This position is responsible for processing court-related case files and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of legal documentation. Duties include updating the case management system with court notes and dispositions; formatting, proofreading, and preparing letters, reports, petitions, and other documents for court filing; and maintaining statistical data for reporting to the State of California.

The incumbent will collaborate with a variety of County departments and justice system partners, including the District Attorneys Office, Sheriffs Office, Behavioral Health Services, and the Superior Court. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all court documents are accurate, complete, and filed with the court in a timely manner.

Legal Specialist I

Receives general supervision from management or supervisory staff.

Legal Specialist II

Receives direction from management and supervisory staff. May exercises technical and functional supervision over secretarial and clerical staff.
