Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Technician / Administrative Support Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DKAGAA-ID2. Responsibilities The incumbent of this position serves as an Intern in the CES Student program with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). As a participant in the program, the incumbent will complete formal and informal training. Assists in troubleshooting accessibility and availability problems and initiates corrective actions. Ensures basic application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of services. Performs a variety of limited technical tasks designed to familiarize the incumbent with regulatory guidelines, terminology, procedures and techniques of Information Technology. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Student Interns qualify based on their educational achievements. Additional Information PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY: Upon successful completion of their academic program and the trainee program, the student may be converted to a permanent position in the excepted consistent with agency needs, academic achievement, and demonstrated potential. Conversion potential for this opportunity is a GG-2210-9/11 up to the full performance level of GG-2210-12. However, future budgetary events, hiring restrictions, conversion caps, or other events may preclude the conversion or conversion to a position with the full potential performance level. Individuals converted to a position in the competitive service may be subjected to participation in an agency formal development program.
