Project Overview:
Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far - enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year.As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility. We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services.Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway.The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium.Bechtel is proud to play a critical role in the U.S. transition to cleaner energy and offers the following opportunity on the Thacker Pass Project.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will treat patients presenting at a clinic and lead day-to-day operations. You will coordinate the development and implementation of site medical plans, protocols, facility requirements, emergency procedures, audits, inspections, quality assurance, and other medical practice management tasks. Your work will promote health, safety, and wellness for on-site employees. #LI-NP1
Major Responsibilities:
Support the mobilization, setup, commissioning, and turnover of onsite medical facilities in alignment with project schedules and operational requirements.
Collaborate with Corporate Medical, Health, and Medical Services (CMHMS) and subcontracted providers to establish fully functional site clinics that meet regulatory and contractual standards.
Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with the approved scope of work, quality expectations, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct quarterly internal audits of medical services and facilities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, scope of work, and established quality and performance standards.
Prepare audit reports, identify gaps or risks, and develop corrective action plans; monitor progress to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Provide required reports, metrics, and updates to the Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Manager to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Support the implementation of company Core Processes as applicable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCIDENTS & EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Assist in incident investigations as required, including reviewing medical aspects, contributing to root cause analysis, and supporting corrective actions.
Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of site-specific medical emergency response procedures and protocols.
Ensure ongoing readiness of emergency medical services onsite.
Participate in emergency drills and preparedness activities as required, to validate response effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMS
Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of workforce well-being initiatives and the company Mental Health Program.
Support initiatives that promote overall employee health, engagement, and productivity.
Oversee the implementation of the Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Program (MSIPP), ensuring proper training, compliance, and integration into daily operations.
Monitor program effectiveness and recommend enhancements based on workforce needs and performance data.
COMMUNICATION & INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION
Collaborate effectively with project leadership, site teams, and medical services subcontractor.
Serve as a key liaison between medical services and other project functions to ensure alignment with safety, operational, and regulatory goals.
Foster a culture of respect, professionalism, and teamwork across disciplines, promoting open communication and shared accountability.
PROFESSIONALISM & ETHICAL STANDARDS
Adhere to all organizational ethical principles and standards related to the delivery and oversight of on-site health services.
Represent the organization in a professional manner in all internal and external interactions.

Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in all aspects of the role and decision-making processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in nursing and 5-8 years of relevant experience in occupational health and emergency nursing in occupational health and emergency nursing, and a valid nursing license for the location assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum RN or NP with a Nursing Science Degree / Associates Degree or Paramedic with an associate degree or bachelor's degree. Preferable to have a post-graduate qualification in Occupational health.
Minimum 3 years' experience in the following:
Clinic management in an occupational health setting
Subcontracts management and oversite.
Implementing well-being programs / mental health well-being programs
Implementing muscular skeletal injury prevention programs.
Knowledge of the workers' compensation process
Conducting clinical and quality assessments on health services
Knowledge of Occupational Health Standards and Regulations.
