DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a Vice President of Applications Marketing to lead marketing across Mailjet and Sinch Engage, two growing SaaS application businesses with self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted motions.
This is a new role, not a backfill. You'll help build the marketing model across a portfolio: clarifying what each business needs, where teams should stay focused, and where shared capabilities can make the whole system stronger.
Each business has its own customers, growth motion, market position, and operating reality. The job is to understand those differences, then find the places where shared playbooks, stronger operating rhythms, and cross-sell opportunities can compound across the portfolio.
You'll own marketing across the customer lifecycle, from acquisition and activation through retention, expansion, and advocacy. We're looking for someone who can set the plan, get close to the work, and keep the team moving. Someone who can diagnose where growth is stuck, decide what matters most, and make progress visible.
Key Responsibilities
Own marketing strategy across Mailjet and Sinch Engage, with accountability for growth across all GTM motions including self-serve, sales-assisted or sales-led, as well as via our ecosystem partners & integrations
Build clear growth plans that connect positioning, demand generation, lifecycle, product adoption, customer expansion, and revenue impact
Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, regional marketing, Analytics, and Marketing Operations to turn growth priorities into executable plans
Identify and scale reusable playbooks across lifecycle marketing, performance marketing, website infrastructure, launch motions, customer expansion, and cross-sell
Strengthen positioning and messaging for multiple audiences, including marketers, business users, developers, SMBs, and enterprise buyers
Partner with Product and Engineering to improve onboarding, activation, in-product engagement, upgrade journeys, feature adoption, packaging, and monetization
Support regional marketing and sales teams with the programs, assets, and strategic guidance needed to create pipeline and accelerate opportunity creation
Lead and develop the marketing leads and contributors supporting the application businesses, raising the bar for strategy, execution, commercial discipline, and AI-enabled ways of working
About You
You are a builder. You are at your best when the path is not fully defined, the pieces are not perfectly connected, and the opportunity requires someone to create the system, not just run the system.
You have led SaaS growth before, but you do not rely on a single playbook. You can diagnose whether growth is constrained by positioning, funnel performance, product experience, team rhythm, or lack of focus, then turn that diagnosis into action.
You are commercially grounded. You understand how marketing contributes to revenue across self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted motions. You are comfortable with the numbers, but you care most about using them to make sharper decisions and better tradeoffs.
You are a strong operator inside complex organizations. You can work through distributed teams, regional stakeholders, product partners, sales leaders, and time zones without letting complexity become an excuse for slow progress. You bring urgency without creating chaos.
You are willing to get close to the work. This is not a role for someone who only wants to manage through layers. Some teams will need coaching, some plans will need sharper thinking, and some work will need more structure. You should be comfortable stepping in where needed while helping the team move faster and better over time.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of progressive marketing experience in SaaS, technology, or digital-first businesses, including at least 5 years in senior marketing leadership roles
Experience leading and developing marketing teams, with direct accountability for growth, pipeline, revenue, or another commercial performance target
Proven success scaling product-led growth and self-serve acquisition, activation, conversion, and monetization
Experience operating across both self-serve and sales-assisted motions
Strong command of SaaS growth metrics, including acquisition, activation, conversion, retention, expansion, CAC, LTV, pipeline, and revenue growth
Hands-on experience with lifecycle marketing, digital acquisition, conversion optimization, experimentation, and funnel performance
Experience partnering with Product and Engineering on onboarding, adoption, packaging, in-product growth, and customer experience improvements
Strong positioning and messaging skills across multiple audiences, ideally including both technical and business users
Experience operating across distributed product, sales, and marketing teams in multiple time zones
Demonstrable experience using AI to improve how marketing teams plan, produce, test, analyze, or scale their work
Excellent communication skills across executive, regional, product, sales, and marketing stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience marketing email, messaging, communications, marketing automation, or customer engagement products
Experience in a multi-product, multi-brand, or global organization
Experience with developer, marketer, SMB, mid-market, and enterprise audiences
Familiarity with ABM, enterprise demand generation, and regional field marketing partnership models
Experience with pricing, packaging, plan migration, cross-sell, or monetization programs
