Job Title: Manufacturing Lead
Job Description
The Manufacturing Lead oversees the efficient, accurate, safe, and timely manufacture of regulated products, including radioactive medical devices, within a controlled environment. This role provides daily direction and leadership to manufacturing technicians, ensures compliance with quality and safety standards, and communicates operational needs and capabilities to leadership. The Manufacturing Lead also operates production equipment and in-process instrumentation when needed, follows established procedures and documentation practices, and drives continuous improvement while mentoring and coaching the manufacturing team.
Responsibilities
Perform all work in full compliance with company policies and within the guidelines of the quality system and applicable regulatory requirements.
Provide clear daily direction to team members in the assigned area to ensure products are manufactured on time and according to all relevant policies and procedures.
Manufacture, assemble, and ship regulated products and sub-assemblies, including medical devices of a radioactive nature, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
Operate production equipment within controlled environments, adhering to process parameters and safety requirements.
Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Review timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Support training and progression of team members by providing guidance, feedback, and clear instructions based on written procedures and established guidelines.
Escalate employee relations issues and participate in regular check-ins and one-on-one discussions with team members as needed.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of all designated manufacturing, laboratory, and support areas to meet housekeeping and safety standards.
Assist with in-process testing to verify that batches meet defined specifications and quality criteria.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, materials, and parts to enhance efficiency and quality.
Assist with maintenance activities related to manufacturing and laboratory equipment as required.
Provide mentorship and coaching to Manufacturing Technicians to build skills, promote adherence to procedures, and support career development.

Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to quality, safety, and data integrity.
Follow all safety rules and safety precautions, including proper use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous and radioactive materials.

Become an authorized user of one or more designated areas in the facility, following all associated training and authorization procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations and business needs.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or operations experience.
At least 1 year of medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience handling radioactive materials in a radiation-controlled environment preferred.
Previous lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate tasks and instructions from management to Manufacturing Technicians.
Ability to operate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to read and interpret Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute averages, rates, and percentages, and interpret basic charts or graphs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to travel for work as required.
Ability to satisfactorily pass comprehensive background and drug screening.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality System Regulations.
Experience working in clean room, laboratory, or controlled manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools.
Experience in production, assembly, packaging, and laboratory operations.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading or mentoring manufacturing technicians.
Experience with process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
Comfort working with Standard Operating Procedures and detailed written instructions.
Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize deviations from accepted practices.

Work Environment
The role operates across office, supply room, laboratory, and clean room environments within a regulated manufacturing facility. You will frequently work with hazardous materials, including radioactive substances and chemicals, and will use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow strict safety precautions at all times. The position requires frequent fine hand-eye coordination, regular use of computers and standard office equipment, and routine operation of laboratory and manufacturing equipment. The work is largely stationary with periodic movement between workstations and areas, and you will regularly lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The schedule may include some evening and weekend work depending on production demands, and occasional overnight travel may be required for work-related events or activities. Dress and personal protective equipment will align with laboratory, clean room, and safety standards applicable to handling hazardous and radioactive materials.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
