OUR MISSION
The mission of this agency is to provide flood protection through the operation and maintenance of a large flood-control system consisting of levees, pumping stations, floodgates, floodwalls, and drainage structures.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Administrative Program Specialist is re s ponsi ble for supporting and coordinating programs , operations, and administrative processes within the Ten sas Basin Levee District. This r o l e serves as a c entral point of our agency-helping ensure that projects and workflows run effi ciently and align with our agency 's goals.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Purchasing & Asset Management: Maintains agencies' purchase orders , quotes, vendor documentation, and asset record s from acquisition through disposal, donat i on, or destruction. Review s purcha s i ng do cument s for accu ra cy, co mpletene ss, and co mpli ance with agency a nd s tate purchasing pro cedures . Maintaining th e agency's Asset Management Program , includi ng tagging an d int erna l au dit s.
Evaluation of other e mpl oyee s ' proj ec t s an d workloads. Ass i s t i n g the Executive Director and th e Administrative Dir ector with special project s and tasks as needed . Other tasks as assigne d by th e agency dir ec to r.
Process i ncomin g paym e nt s a nd accounting functions for the Land Lea ses b e lon g i ng to the agency. Re s pon si ble for maintaining the agency check log for Audits, making deposits , entering bi lls , and assis ting with audit prepar a tion
Manages land l ease do c um enta tion, publication updates, an d related paperwork for hunt i n g a nd farming leases. Mana ges cam p si t e updat es, i n su r a n ce verification, p aperwork, and r elate d administrative records.
May serve as a backup employee for Payroll processing and leave management. May serve as a backup to record meeting minutes in the Board Secretary's absence. May provide administrative support to all 3 divisions within the agency.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational - up to 24 months
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based n qualification and experience.
