Job Title: Project Manager - Industrial Construction
Job Description
This role oversees the delivery of industrial construction projects across all phases, from pre-construction through completion and closeout. You plan, schedule, coordinate, and help manage budgets and safety, while providing day-to-day support for on-site activities and ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within scope. You work closely with field teams, multiple trades, and project leadership to track progress, identify risks, and support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of industrial construction projects from pre-construction through completion and closeout.
Lead project planning and scheduling activities to develop and maintain accurate project timelines.
Coordinate project activities, including field operations and multiple trades, to support efficient site execution.
Support project budgeting and cost control by tracking projections, forecasts, and performance against plan.
Provide day-to-day support for on-site activities, including tracking work progress and participating in regular project reviews and meetings.
Identify project risks, resolve issues, and proactively mitigate potential schedule delays or cost impacts.
Help ensure that all safety, quality, and compliance standards are consistently met on site.
Review project projections, performance metrics, and reporting to support informed decision-making by project leadership.
Collaborate with field teams to maintain smooth site operations and effective communication among all trades.
Support scheduling activities by updating project schedules and maintaining accurate timelines and milestones.
Perform accurate data entry related to project documentation, cost tracking, schedules, and reports.
Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to support planning and execution.
Contribute to safety practices on site by applying safety knowledge and supporting adherence to safety protocols.
Participate in ongoing training and development to build expertise in project management, construction means and methods, and industrial operations.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in construction management or industrial construction environments.
Degree in Construction Management or Project Management; a BS is preferred, but an AS is acceptable with the right experience.
Hands-on field coordination and on-site experience in construction or industrial settings.
Strong scheduling skills, including experience with construction or industrial project scheduling.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Accurate data entry skills for project documentation, cost tracking, and reporting.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
Safety knowledge applicable to industrial and construction sites.
Openness to travel for project needs, primarily within the Midwest.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Safety, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Process/Management, or related technical/associate programs.
Experience in construction, industrial, mechanical, steel erection, mechanical construction, or commercial construction.
Experience with project management, project coordination, estimation, and scheduling coordination.
Proficiency in planning and scheduling means, methods, and software such as Primavera, MS Project, P6, and Power BI is a plus.
Understanding of industrial operations and outage-heavy work environments.
Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse field teams and multiple trades on site.
Work Environment
This is a full-time role based out of an office in Frankfort, IL, with typical hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position involves regular work on active industrial construction sites where 35-60 people are on site at all times, representing multiple trades, with the majority being direct employees. Travel is required on a sporadic basis, primarily throughout the Midwest, with per diem, travel pay, and mileage provided. The environment is fast-paced and industrial, with heavy activity during outages and major maintenance periods, and offers a tight-knit, family-like culture where many team members have worked together for over 20 years. Significant investment is being made into facility renovations, upgrades, and enhanced maintenance, creating a growth-oriented, stable setting with strong long-term project opportunities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.75 - $40.87/hr.
