Job Summary
The Sales Engineer serves as the technical expert within the sales process, combining engineering knowledge with consultative selling skills to develop and deliver solutions that address customer needs. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and the company's products and services by providing technical guidance, conducting product demonstrations, developing cost-effective solutions, and supporting customers throughout the sales cycle.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships while driving business growth. This position supports the sale of mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, supplies, and related services.
Essential Functions
Develop a thorough understanding of the company's products, services, technical specifications, applications, and value propositions.
Partner with commercial, industrial, and other customers to identify technical requirements, operational challenges, and business objectives.
Design and recommend technical solutions that align with customer needs and deliver measurable value.
Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based sales discussions to communicate product capabilities and benefits.
Provide ongoing technical support to customers by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring successful implementation of solutions.
May assist with the technical components of sales and service agreements, ensuring proposed solutions align with contract requirements.
Conduct technical training and product education for customers and end users as needed.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to maintain market knowledge and identify new business opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, operations, marketing, and customer support, to deliver exceptional customer experiences and successful project outcomes.
This position will require travel up to 40%.

Required Skills and Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
2+ years of experience as a sales engineer or in a similar technical sales role.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate them to both technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships with customers and internal teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and propose innovative solutions
Self-motivated and results-oriented with a demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Willingness to travel as required.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field
4+ years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering.
Knowledge of CNC machines, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
Experience using CRM and sales management software.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product development and marketing
Compensation
The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $81,427 to $108,569. The exact salary may be determined on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.
