Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Employment Services Unit andCareer/CO I Team
Position provides technical support in the area of CO-Jobs/NeoGov, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides and Forms, in managing applicant information;
Captures information during the selection and evaluation process and reports on the status of candidates;
Generates and closes out referrals and collects information for the CO I and Employment Services staff;
Compiles and distributes information, including letters to applicants and scheduling letters to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs);
Position obtains and/or captures information during the Selection and Job Evaluation process and reports on the status of various stages while supporting HR Analysts;
Provides notification letters to candidates, and merges new scores/applicants to existing lists, verifying accuracy of tasks;
Recommends improvements and changes to system processes to ensure quality control and staff efficiency;
Responsible for preparing examination files, to include drafting/copying information, verifying readability of documents, adding section dividers, and filing documents into the correct sections;
Position administers assessments and comparative analysis to include scheduling the room, sending notices, typing rosters, gathering supplies, preparing materials for panel assessment devices, providing instructions, managing the panels and boards, scanning, updating COJobs/ NeoGov, briefing candidates for panel assessments, providing breakdown letters for candidates, generating required CO-Jobs/NeoGovreports and merging new scores to current list;
Appropriately communicates information to candidates/potential candidates;
Position coordinates the personal services contracts by logging, tracking, and distributes accordingly ensuring reviews are completed;
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding hiring materials;
Other duties as assigned.
Systems and Records Unit
Responsible for all personnel actions/movements to include new employees, disciplinary actions, in- house transfers, promotions, demotions,
resignations, terminations, cross certifications, re-allocations, creations and abolishments;
Research and track S positions; complete actions in HRMES, CPPS, and DCIS;
Responsible for quality control of HRMES, CPPS, WebX, DCIS, Form i9, Document Manager, and HRDW; detect, discover and expose
problems by monitoring entries; clarify data with other work units to correct factual errors; modify work plans to adjust for unforeseencircumstances; recommend improvements and changes to system processes to ensure quality control and staff efficiency;
Ensure on-boarding processes of new hires are efficient and elegant. Position will be a key player in streamlining the on-boarding process in a
friendly and enthusiastic manner;
Verify adequate releases, gather information, monitor the review of files as requested by employees, supervisors, investigators, and attorneys;
Provide accurate information to approved stakeholders as it relates to employment verifications, employment dates,
salary and work titles;
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Three (3) years of technical or *high level clerical experience. This work experience must be clearly described, in your own words, in the work history section of your application to meet this requirement. A ny work experience less than full time will be prorated.
*Technical workis defined as skilled work in the practical application of specialized techniques, procedures, practices, or methods in order to accomplish tasks. The specialized work is a direct extension of a professional field which requires an understanding of that field, the nature of the work requires that it revert to a professional if not performed by a technician.
**High Level clerical experienceincludes the following: document creation, word processing; create and revise office procedures; compiling and formatting the content for program materials such as annual reports and newsletters; screening documents and supporting information to determine eligibility, authenticity, or identity; accounting for the unit's allotted funds by authorizing operating expenditures.
OR:College or university school course work in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis (You must submit a copy of your unofficial college transcript with your name, college name, degree and date conferred in order to receive credit.).

High level clerical or technical work experience with the State of Colorado.
Advanced knowledge and proven work experience in Google Applications (Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Forms) .
Experience completing multiple projects simultaneously with on-going, frequent, deadlines.
Progressive experience working in a fast-paced customer-oriented environment with a focus on delivering a high level of customer service.
Proven experience monitoring work, checking for errors, and verifying accuracy.
Knowledge and experience researching and compiling statistics, data measurements and preparing reliable reports in a logical and concise format.
Process improvement experience - analyze processes, identify gaps and recommend areas for improvement.

Possess a high school diploma or GED
Have NO felony convictions, to include any actions defined in 5 U.S.C. 301; U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 15601-15609. The CDOC shall not hire nor promote anyone who may have contact with an offender who has engaged in sexual abuse which includes acts, activity, and sexual behavior, in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in the above paragraph. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents.

Successfully pass all modules of the six-week Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training, to include English reading comprehension, relevant competency assessments and written/practical exams in Defensive Tactics.
Possess the physical ability to successfully complete Defensive Tactics
Lift arms above head and kick as high as own waist
Stabilize another person to accomplish a controlled take down
Use arms, palms of hands, shins, and feet to deliver blows
Withstand impact (slow speed or with a safety bag) on own body from strikes/blows
Swing a baton in a striking technique
Rotate body 90 degrees with feet planted for striking with foot or using a defensive tactic;
Get down on one or both knees and up again with multiple repetitions
Will be exposed to Oleoresin Capsicum during Basic Training and will be exposed while on assignment
Must be able to see and hear in order to observe, address and respond to potential breaches in safety and security
Seize, hold, control or subdue violent or assaultive persons and defend oneself or others to prevent injury
Demonstrate body agility, strength of all four limbs and the ability to walk and climb stairs consistently
Work in situations involving assaultive behavior, physical control of another person and/or restraint situations
Deal with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors, utilizing tactfulness and a congenial, personable manner
Work with people of the opposite sex, diverse racial ethnic groups, mentally ill and emotionally disturbed offenders
Communicate by talking, listening and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information, assignments
Work in an environment with fluctuating noise and temperature (hot and cold) which may include working outdoors in inclement weather and/or concrete floor/wall work settings
Willing and able to travel
Willing and able to work various shifts, days, afternoons, graveyards (nights) which includes a rotating shift schedule
TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire
Successful completion of a background investigation is required. Should applicant's background reveal criminal charges, it shall be the responsibility of the applicant to provide the Department of Corrections with written/official disposition of any charges.
The CDOC is committed to a work environment free from illegal drugs and alcohol.
