Job Title: Electrical Technician
Job Description
The Electrical Technician assembles custom and complex electrical control panel boxes for water and wastewater control systems, performs start-ups, and troubleshoots issues to ensure reliable operation. This role involves reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints, installing and wiring components, and performing thorough testing and quality checks on completed panels.
Responsibilities
Assemble custom and complex electrical control panel boxes used in water and wastewater control systems.
Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to determine proper component layout and wiring paths.
Install and mount components such as blocks, buttons, switches, indicator lights, contactors, overloads, circuit breakers, relays, and time delays.
Wire control panels point-to-point according to schematics and established standards.
Perform start-up and troubleshooting of electrical control panels to verify proper operation.
Test and perform quality control checks on completed panels to ensure they meet specifications and safety requirements.
Work with multiple voltage systems including 480V 3-phase, 230V 3-phase, and 120V single-phase.
Use general hand tools, including screwdrivers, wire strippers, and drills, to complete assembly and wiring tasks.
Collaborate with a small team to meet production schedules and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of control panel assembly experience.
Minimum of 3 years of electrical assembly experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints for custom and complex electrical panels.
Proficiency in reading and wiring control panels from electrical schematics.
Hands-on experience with control panel wiring, point-to-point wiring, and panel building.
Experience working with 480V 3-phase, 230V 3-phase, and 120V single-phase power.
Familiarity with Schneider contactors and overloads, circuit breakers, relays, and time delay devices.
Strong electrical wiring and electrical assembly skills, including low-voltage work.
Ability to use basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire strippers, and drills.
Competence in blueprint reading and wiring schematics for electrical systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience building and wiring panels for water and wastewater control systems.
Experience in mechanical assembly related to control panels.
Experience working in a clean, organized shop environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a small team of technicians.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, organized, non-climate-controlled shop environment, working closely with a team of approximately 5-6 employees. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some Saturday work from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as needed. The work involves hands-on electrical panel assembly and wiring using common hand tools and working around industrial power levels, requiring adherence to safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a shop setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
