Job Description
This permanent, full-time Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA) position is based in Daytona, FL and sits within a highly automated operations environment that delivers tens of thousands of products worldwide each day. In this role, you learn to combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and automation engineering skills while working hands-on with complex, high-performance manufacturing and material handling systems. You support the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment, help ensure preventative maintenance is completed to a high standard, and contribute to high equipment availability through continuous improvement. You work closely with experienced technicians and journey workers, follow technical documentation and safety regulations, and collaborate with upstream and downstream operations partners to keep the facility running safely and efficiently.

Job title: Maintenance Technician / Apprentice
Location: Daytona Beach, FL
Shift: MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SHIFTS - 10 hours shifts (days or nights) Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday
Pay rate: $26.84 with pay increase after 6 months
Learn and apply mechatronics and robotics concepts by combining electronic, mechanical, computer, and automation skills in a highly automated operations environment.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on conveyance and material handling equipment using established job plans, procedures, and maintenance schedules.
Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics, robotic work cells, and automated packaging and distribution equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components to minimize downtime and maintain process efficiency.
Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, and other control components.
Assist with the installation, adjustment, and repair of conveyors, robotics, and related mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
Read, interpret, and follow technical documents, instructions, and maintenance procedures while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and policies.
Work closely with journey workers and senior technicians at various facilities, including high automation and robotics sites, to carry out maintenance and repair tasks.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent education.
At least 1 year of PC software experience, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Vocational or technical training, an associate degree or higher in a related field, or at least 1 year of experience in a reliability maintenance engineering or similar maintenance environment.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing operational equipment or systems.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assembly and maintenance tasks.
Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately and apply basic to intermediate mathematics in a technical environment.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyors and related equipment.
Ability to move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk for up to 12-hour shifts, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
Willingness and ability to enroll in and attend a 9-week off-site training program with a designated training provider.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of military experience, particularly in technical, mechanical, or electrical roles, is highly valued.
Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or material handling equipment.
Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE), including conveyors and automated systems.
Experience implementing and following safety standards, procedures, and best practices in an industrial or maintenance setting.
Experience reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams to support troubleshooting and repair.
Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor maintenance.
Prior experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose root causes of equipment failures.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
