About the Opportunity:

This position exists to provide agency IT leadership by leading, directing, and managing PERA's database functions while serving on the PERA IT Strategic Team. This position provides work directions and technical guidance to Database Administrator (ITS3) and provides software development team and network team on database-related solutions and recommendations.
This position is telework eligible and offers a hybrid work schedule, based on agency and department needs and other dependencies. Scheduled in-office workdays will be at PERA's office at 60 Empire Drive, Suite 200, St. Paul, Minnesota 55103.
Candidates residing in Minnesota within 50 miles of our St Paul office may be eligible to telework up to 50%.
Candidates residing in Minnesota and more than 50 miles from our office may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
Candidates residing in a bordering state within 50 miles of our office may be eligible to telework up to 50%.
Candidates who do not reside in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the office in a state bordering Minnesota are not eligible to be hired, unless planning to relocate within 50 miles of the office or report to the office full time.
Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years of experience working with SQL Server in production environments.
Years of experience must also demonstrate the following:
Experience in operations of Microsoft SQL Server DBA, Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and SQL Code.
Experience with business continuity of operations, and data disaster recovery planning with analytic skills to identify problems, determine solutions, take action and/or make recommendations for problem resolution.
Experience with database security, diagnostic tools, and maintenance.
Experience designing data solutions for high availability and scalability.
Ability to work both independently and within a team in a deadline driven environment.
Commitment to a respectful, inclusive, and diverse work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
Cloud and hybrid environment experience.
Experience working with Always On Availability Groups.
Experience in network port behaviors, TCPIP protocols, .Net high-level architecture, Service desk/helpdesk application handling, and data structure fundamentals.
Data ecosystem knowledge spanning operational data stores, data warehousing, ETL, business intelligence and analytics.
