Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will advise the Commanding Officer in establishing and managing the base aviation safety program. You will maintain aviation safety records and mishap statistics. You will review, interpret, and disseminate policies and directives relative to aviation safety. You will review procedures in use or proposed for the operation, maintenance, and testing of aircraft to insure aviation safety standards are met. You will represent the Command in contacts, meetings, and conferences relative to aviation safety matters in order to promote safety, resolve problems, and exchange information. You will manage relations with local authorities, the public, and the press. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: executing an aviation safety program, performing aviation mishap investigations, and making recommendations concerning operations, maintenance, and training to improve flight safety, standardization, and readiness. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
