Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating press machines, press brakes, and related industrial manufacturing equipment to form, bend, and shape metal components according to precise specifications. The machine operator ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production by setting up equipment, monitoring performance, performing inspections, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate press machines and CNC/manual press brake equipment to form, bend, and shape metal components according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate and precise production.
Adjust machine settings, tooling, and fixtures to achieve required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
Monitor machine performance and output to maintain consistent production flow and meet quality and productivity goals.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues and make appropriate adjustments to minimize downtime.
Conduct routine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition by following established procedures.
Handle raw materials and finished products, including loading and unloading metal components safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate production and quality records, documenting parts produced, inspections, and any issues encountered.
Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company procedures while working in the manufacturing environment.
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting process improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in alignment with 5S standards.
Work collaboratively with team members and support other production activities as needed to meet overall manufacturing goals.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience operating press machines, press brakes, or similar industrial manufacturing equipment, ideally within automotive, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing environments.
Strong understanding of metal forming processes and machinery operation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions accurately.
Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance, and frequently bend, lift, and handle materials.
Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with noise and varying temperatures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Hands-on experience with production, machine operation, and assembly processes.
Proficiency in using hand tools in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
Experience working under OSHA safety standards in industrial environments.
Comfort operating within facilities that use large overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
Willingness to cross-train on multiple machines and expand technical skills over time.
Interest in developing into leadership roles as experience grows.

Work Environment
This position is based in a large indoor manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled, with large fans and active air circulation to improve comfort. The building features large overhead cranes and heavy industrial equipment, creating a dynamic production environment. Break areas, restrooms, and office spaces are air-conditioned for additional comfort. The role operates on a first-shift schedule, and you will spend most of your time on your feet at or near the machines, working around typical manufacturing noise and varying temperatures while following all safety and equipment-use guidelines.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
