Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Location: Tulsa, OK

Type: Contract To Hire

Compensation: $22-26/hr

Work Model: Onsite

Hours: 40.0

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, data entry, and general accounting functions

Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts

Assist with invoice processing, payment applications, and collections activities

Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and supporting documentation

Support month-end and year-end closing activities

Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements as needed

Maintain vendor and customer records and respond to account inquiries

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures

Provide administrative support to the accounting and finance team

Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related experience preferred

Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar systems preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, nonprofit, or corporate environment

Exposure to payroll processing and account reconciliations

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
