The Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP) Complaints Department is seeking an experienced professional to conduct fact-finding investigations of complaints filed by clients, staff and/or other persons. Other duties include maintaining database information, maintaining logs, and files of complaints, drafting reports and decision letters. Please note: The selected candidate will work 37.5 hours per week on first shift from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday - Friday. The days off will be scheduled as Sunday and Saturday. This schedule will have flexibility to complete fact findings based on operational need. Duties and Responsibilities (These are a general summary and are not all inclusive): Conducts fact-finding investigations at RAP in accordance with 104 CMR 32 by researching regulations, protocols, procedures, and policies; by spending a significant time on units conducting interviews with client and staff, and reviews medical records and video recordings, as applicable. Drafts reports for review and maintains databases. Enters data in the statewide Safety Learning System (SLS) and completes all entries as additional information is received. Assists with the development of decision letters for person in charge's approval. As a member of the PI team, assists with compiling and organizing RAP data. Serves as a member of the Complaints Disposition Committee, Complaints Review committee and other committees as assigned/appointed. Provides technical assistance and responds to inquiries regarding complaint and fact finding process. Maintains competencies for working in Complaints/Quality Management. Presents Complaints Department Orientation for new employees. Required Qualifications: Ability to analyze information and determine the applicability of information and draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to gather and analyze information and write concisely. Knowledge of and experience in the complaint and investigation process. Ability to establish and maintain boundaries. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of reporting requirement to oversight agencies such as Disabled Persons Protection Commission, Department of Children & Families and Elder Affairs. Proficient in Excel and database management. Knowledge of and professional experience working in human service and substance use disorders fields. Knowledge of The Joint Comission and CMS standards. About the Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP): The Department of Mental Health (DMH) in collaboration with the Department of Public Health (DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services operates a statewide Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP) for individuals civilly committed by the courts for substance use treatment for up to 90 days ("Section 35 commitment"). The program model will provide acute detoxification and early clinical stabilization services as we help clients develop community-based linkages to outpatient supports and substance use disorder treatment providers. The individuals treated within this program will be linked upon discharge to a range of services within the DPH continuum of care for substance use conditions.
