Summary The position provides broad technical, administrative, and clerical support in Acute Nursing Service at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The incumbent will interface with Nursing Services staff, customers, and stakeholders; develop and maintain records of budgeting and resource spending; review, analyze, and report on performance and compliance activities via data analysis. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Develops proposals and plans of action to improve office operations and provides liaison support in connection with those matters over which she/he has primary administrative responsibility. Independently observes need for administrative instruction or changes within patient/clinical services' operations, prepares correspondence and presents them for CNE's signature. Independently handles situations based on general knowledge of the organization and policy; disposes of routine matters where there is well-established policy and/or procedure. Reviews correspondence, (electronic and paper), directives, publications and standards in order to stay updated and informed, to determine appropriate action, responsibility, or area of interest. Incumbent reviews reports, actions, and correspondence prepared for signature for conformance with Medical Center policy and VA regulations. Drafts letters of acknowledgement and/or thanks to nursing personnel, for special accomplishments and services provided. Maintains calendar/schedule for Nursing Service Chiefs. Arranges meetings and conferences, with internal and external agencies and affiliates. Prepares agendas, notifies participants, prepares minutes and arranges other matters, as appropriate. Provides a broad spectrum of support to the Medical Center's Nursing Recruitment Program. Responsible for the clerical duties related to implementing a comprehensive healthcare recruitment and marketing program for the VA at Dayton. Provides supports and assistance to Nurse Managers with regard to staffing and recruitment issues. All other duties as assigned.
