Electrical Assembly Technician-$22-25/hr
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling, wiring, and installing electrical panels and enclosures by accurately interpreting mechanical drawings, bills of materials, fabrication prints, and layout drawings. You will work in a climate-controlled assembly shop, using a variety of tools and equipment to build high-quality electrical assemblies that meet established standards.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, bills of materials, fabrication prints, layout drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to understand project requirements.
Assemble electrical enclosures according to written instructions and engineering documentation.
Dimensionally lay out back panels and externally mounted devices to ensure accurate placement and alignment.
Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using methods such as drilling and tapping steel and other materials.
Fit and align doors, latches, hinges, handles, and other mechanical hardware to ensure proper operation and appearance.
Operate computerized terminals, wire labeling systems, and engraving equipment to properly identify components and wiring.
Wire panel devices according to provided electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, ensuring correct terminations and connections.
Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and in accordance with established electrical standards and best practices.
Use hand tools and electrical assembly tools safely and effectively during panel wiring and installation activities.
Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical assemblies to verify proper operation and identify wiring or assembly issues.
Follow all work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures while completing electrical assembly tasks.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician or in electrical assembly.
Proven experience with electrical panel wiring and electrical wiring installation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics (required).
Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, including panel wiring and device installation.
Proficiency using common hand tools and electrical assembly tools.
Strong understanding of electrical components and basic electronics.
Ability to route and bundle wires and cables according to established electrical standards.
Capability to drill and tap steel and other materials for mounting devices.
Skill in operating computerized terminals and related equipment for labeling and engraving.
Attention to detail and accuracy in following technical documentation and instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a panel shop or electrical assembly environment.
Familiarity with mechanical hardware such as doors, latches, hinges, and handles for enclosure assembly.
Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical assemblies and wiring issues.
Strong organizational skills to maintain neat and orderly wiring and layouts.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
