This role focuses on providing on-site field service, inspection, installation, start-up, testing, and repair support for a full range of industrial equipment that utilizes motor-controlled hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The Electrical Field Service Engineer diagnoses complex issues, supports new equipment installations, and ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of customer machinery while maintaining clear documentation and communication throughout each project.
Responsibilities
Perform field inspections, start-up, testing, and commissioning of industrial equipment that uses motor-controlled hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Install, service, and repair a broad range of industrial machines at customer sites, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with PLCs and related control systems to minimize downtime and restore equipment functionality.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers during installation and start-up of new equipment.
Develop and write project plans, test plans, and equipment manuals to document procedures, configuration, and maintenance requirements.
Collaborate with the field service team and engineering staff to resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain findings, recommend corrective actions, and provide status updates on work performed.
Travel extensively to domestic and international customer locations to support installation, commissioning, and service activities.
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation related to site visits, repairs, and equipment performance.
Adhere to safety standards and best practices while working in industrial environments, including foundries and manufacturing facilities.
Essential Skills
Field Service Engineering experience working with motor-controlled hydraulic and pneumatic industrial machines.
Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and related control systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Experience with motor controls and sensors in industrial equipment.
Strong communication skills to assist customers during installation and service activities.
Ability to write project plans, test plans, and equipment manuals.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to approximately 70%, both domestically and internationally, for trips ranging from a few days to several weeks.
BS degree in Engineering is preferred, or equivalent field experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Work Environment
This position involves a mix of office and field-based work. When not traveling, you work on-site in an office setting alongside a small field service team, performing planning, documentation, and remote support activities from a desk environment. When traveling, you work at customer facilities across domestic and international locations, including regions such as Asia and various sites within the United States. Many customer sites are industrial environments, often foundries, where conditions can be hot and dirty, and language barriers may be present in some international locations. The role requires extensive travel of up to approximately 70%, with trips ranging from a few days to as long as six weeks. You work with industrial equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and control technologies such as PLCs, while adhering to site-specific safety practices and attire requirements appropriate for industrial settings.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr.
