Job Title: Electrical Process Engineer
Job Description
This role focuses on leading and supporting process engineering and multi-discipline project teams through all design phases of capital projects. The Electrical Process Engineer collects and analyzes technical data, performs detailed engineering calculations, and develops formal engineering and technical reports. The position emphasizes the design of liquid ingredient and product handling, storage, and transfer systems, while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and efficient project execution.
Responsibilities
Lead and support process engineering activities across all design phases of capital projects in collaboration with multi-discipline engineering teams.
Collect, organize, and prepare technical data and information required for process design and project execution.
Perform detailed engineering calculations, including material and energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and heat transfer analyses.
Design liquid ingredient and product handling, storage, and transfer systems to meet process and safety requirements.
Develop and refine process engineering deliverables such as block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Prepare equipment specifications that clearly define technical requirements and performance criteria.
Conduct bid evaluations to compare vendor proposals and recommend suitable equipment and systems.
Review vendor submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and design intent.
Support the design and construction of batch and continuous chemical processing facilities in areas such as industrial gases and cryogenic facilities, coatings manufacturing, battery chemical components, precious metals refining, and plastics industries.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process designs integrate effectively with electrical, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare formal engineering and technical reports that document analyses, design decisions, and recommendations.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues and optimize process performance.
Organize and prioritize tasks to support efficient project execution and meet project deadlines.
Communicate clearly with team members, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment on technical requirements and project objectives.
Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, with Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
10+ years of process engineering experience.
Experience designing and supporting the construction of batch and continuous chemical processing facilities.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: industrial gases and cryogenic facilities, coatings manufacturing, battery chemical components, precious metals refining, and plastics industries.
Proficiency in the design of liquid ingredient and product handling, storage, and transfer systems.
Working knowledge of the preparation of block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail in engineering calculations and documentation.
Ability to multitask and organize work to support project efficiency.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within multi-discipline teams.
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of relevant industry standards, including ASME, API, PIP, and CGA requirements, preferred.
Experience with dry ingredient and product handling, storage, and transfer system design is a plus.
Electrical engineering background or experience supporting electrical aspects of process systems is beneficial.
Experience preparing formal engineering and technical reports.
Ability to participate in vendor reviews and evaluate technical submittals and bids.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
